A highly recommended book: What Catalans Want

Our good friend Toni Strubell has asked thirty-four people to speak their minds about Catalonia. Over the course of one year, twenty-nine Catalans from different walks of life -some of them living in other countries- and five non-Catalans living in Catalonia were given the chance to talk frankly, each from his or her own professional perspective, about the country's present situation and the options for its future. The result is "What Catalans Want", a beautifully-produced book with photographs by Lluís Brunet and a prologue by Irish author Cólm Tóibín. We think that it's an excellent introduction to the social, cultural and political realities of Catalonia for the English-speaking public.
